Trans7 started working as a TV7 on November 25, 2001. At that time, it worked only in Jakarta on 809/BH.09.05 frequency that was owned by the Kompas Gramedia. Local Indonesian always welcome this station who dislike western media. On 4 August 2006 Trans Media purchase this station and restarted working as a Trans7. Right now it telecast its transmission from (TransMedia Building Jl. Kapten Pierre Tendean No. 12-14A, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta).

In its journey to date, it has 40 transmission stations and covers almost 29 provinces in the country. It also has a license from the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia to telecast its transmission worldwide. Currently, it manages 4 studios located in the Kuningan Barat area, South Jakarta.

Trans7 TV is the Indonesian station that is likewise owned by Transmedia. The channel made its very first transmission in 2001.
